Free sheets are unsustainable....

Media agency people? This stuff is our fault. There is no justification for this waste of paper. There's plenty of more elegant solutions to stop people from getting bored on the Tube (surely installing mobile networks couldn't cost much more than the recycling bill for this)

Smoking was only banned on Underground trains in 1984 - there's still people working in London who will remember commuting on smoke-filled carriages. I hope that photos like these will seem as disgusting while I'm still a commuter

The single best thing though of freesheets compared to mobile network on the tube: reading the freesheet isn't the same as having the chav talk about her stupid day to a friend on the other end of the phone... That is the single biggest drawbacks of the London bus network...

So very true! I guess Wifi might be a better solution

Glasgow already have O2 points on their underground platforms...and trains in Birmingham have TV's on them...

Mabe the free sheets should do podcast downloads for us; could capture brands attentions a bit more too

I agree though, Graeme, what a ruddy mess!

There's such a big win available for a mobile network that gets involved with cleaning this mess up, but in the meantime I managed not to link to my underground entertainment of choice, Viigo, in the original post but it is the future - see here
